Top Fishing Spots in America

With a little time and money you can plan a perfect fishing trip to some of the hottest spots whether you want to catch a nice bass or a crappie fish, there is an ideal spot for everyone. Here are just a few.

Lake Eufaula, Oklahoma
Crappies are the most abundant fish residing in this 100,000 acre lake. An angler has been known to catch many a crappie fishing here in the spring but it doesn't stop there. You can find these fish all year round.

Grand Traverse Bay, Michigan
Best known for its salmon fishing, Grand Traverse Bay helps a lot of anglers find their fish while on dry land. In May when the weather begins to warm up the bites begin to pick up as well.

Umpqua River, Oregon
If smallmouth fish are on your menu then look no further than Umpqua River. Up to 200 fish from one to four pounds have been known to be caught at this location each day.

Raritan Bay, New Jersey/New York
This special bay can be found by heading to the new pier on Ocean Breeze on the Satan Island down to Sandy Hook. Live eel sightings have been reported there in the fall.

Mille Lacs Lake, Minnesota
For the smallmouth bass, perch, walleyes pike or muskies fisher, Mille Lacs Lake is the place to be.

Roanoke River, North Carolina
Once spring hits you can find a number of striped bass on their spring run here that can get up to five pounds in size. Make sure to make the big catch and release event they have here each May.

Kanetok River, Alaska
Famous for their leopard strain rainbow fish and pink salmon, Kanetok River has salmon runs beginning in June and lasting through September. There is even a tent camp that is organized by Alaska West available.

Lake Erie, Ohio
Boats are the way for anglers to go on Erie Lake. Catfish ranging from 16 to 30 inches long have been caught here and there are many more to find.

Carter Lake, Colorado

Bay Springs Lake, Mississippi
Found in Northeastern Mississippi and spanning almost 6800 acres, Bay Springs is famous for both its bass and abundance, size and fishing spots at this lake.
